Nick Simms is a Managing Consultant of Cornwood Consulting, a consultancy specialising in
Business Continuity Management and Disaster Recovery in the financial services sector. Nick
is widely credited with pioneering Dealing Room Disaster Recovery in the UK and was also
instrumental in the launch of one of the first web-hosting services. He is a Fellow
of the Business Continuity Institute; a Visiting Research Fellow at the University of
Sheffield; and was chairman of the Finance Industry Special Interest Group of Survive, the
international Business Continuity user and supplier organisation, from its inception in
1992 until 2000.
His many publications include The UK market for Business Continuity Services, published
by International Data Corporation in 1997.
Before joining Cornwood Risk Management in 1997, Nick was Marketing Director of
Computer Stand-By, a supplier of IT Disaster Recovery services.
Nick started his career as a Computer Programmer before becoming an award-winning
journalist. He now writes a regular column for Business Continuity Magazine entitled
"A Disastrous Life".
